A Night of Spirituals

Spirituals in America represent a music of gathering. The coming together of people to share an experience and surrender to something greater. Mike Effenberger and Stu Dias have explored this music in several formats as part of the Soggy Po Boys and several other outfits. On September 14th in Congress Square Park, they will explore this music in a very honest and intimate format: voice and piano.

They are excited to bring you stripped down versions of songs that you have known your whole life, songs that sound familiar that you don’t know, and songs you’ve never heard of before while providing some necessary historical and cultural context. So come out and enjoy a night of spirituals with us!
