Ostkust (folk)

Drop by Congress Square Park during the September First Friday Art Walk to enjoy the soft, sublime melodies of Ostkust.

Ostkust is Teresa Sosa and Danny Kelly. They play folk and old-time music, stripped-down to fundamentals. Teresa plays autoharp and bass guitar, and Danny plays guitar. Both members sing; this is the most important part of their tribute to simple and earnest songwriting. Ostkust’s repertoire is an even split between originals, traditional’s, and covers.

The name is Swedish for “East Coast,” and both Teresa and Danny have an affinity for coastal Maine, although Teresa is, at heart, a southerner and shows such with her honeyed voice.
