Join Somali Mainer’s Youth Network for an evening of community arts – from music and fashion to poetry and acting!

Somali Mainer’s Youth Network’s mission is to bring unity and awareness through the Somali community by empowering youth, getting both parents and youth involved in and aware of what goes on around their community. Through workshops, community service, and local events, they aspire to unite Somali Youth and give them opportunities to break the language barrier, gain educational opportunities, and engage as citizens of Portland. Finally, they give youth space where they can talk about issues around youth living in between two different cultures. They hope to educate the Somali youth in Southern Maine about the importance of having an education and how the choices they make a difference back home in Somalia.
