The Friends of Congress Square Park is a community non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, enhancement and use of Congress Square Park, a central part of the Portland park system.

We are dedicated to the arts, public access and community involvement in Congress Square Park as a means to enhance the livability and economic potential of downtown Portland.

We shall be guided by the spirit of the following documents which designate Congress Square Park as the heart of the downtown Portland Arts District:

“The design of the Arts District improvements should establish a progression toward Congress Square from all directions of approach.”
– From City of Portland document, A Plan for Portland’s Arts District.

Report of the Congress Square Park Committee, 1992, City of Portland, Counselor Peter O’Donnell, Chair.
