Bess Berg & The Strays find their groove with songs rooted in jazz, blues, and vintage Americana, both highbrow and lowbrow. Musical offerings range from honky-tonk to funky, from Fats Domino to Tom Waits, from classic covers to fresh originals. Bess Berg leads the band on vocals and keyboard, joined by saxophone goddess Kate Campbell Strauss, Portland’s beloved Per Hanson on drums and harmonica, and blues-pedigreed bass-man Scott Morrison. The band adheres strictly to the philosophy that “If we have a good time, you’re gonna have a good time. So we’re gonna have a good time.”
