Community Event: Viking Ship!

Members of the Maine Nordmenn lodge of the Sons of Norway have rehabilitated the non-seaworthy 19’ sailboat (originally built at the Sample shipyard in Boothbay) into a Viking Ship! This impressive craft will be visiting Congress Square Park on Leif Erikson Day, Sunday, October 9, 2016.
The ship will be on display during the daylight hours and members of the Maine Nordmenn will be there to tell you a little bit about the ship, the lodge and the Vikings. This is a great photo opportunity for the whole family! Remember, Leif as the first European to reach North America, hundreds of year before Columbus!
