Kesho Wazo, “Tomorrow’s Ideas” in Swahili, is an Portland-based youth art collective. The group was created as an outlet for young people to express themselves through art, music, fashion, and social advocacy. The group has been taking their message to the music scene, from open mics to their own WazoFest to traveling for shows out of state.
For this special Congress Square Park showcase, Kesho Wazo will present some of Portland’s finest young DJs, producers, emcees, and voices. Expect a chill evening of beats and rhymes, both experimental and uplifting. Features include local artists Wazo Zaya Universe, Wazo Daveed, Drppy, and Jack, as well as a pop-up shop featuring pieces from Kesho Wazo’s clothing line and original fashion designs.
