Dancing with Steel en Plein Air

From July 25th to August 4th, Alison Chase/Performance and the Atlantic Clarion Steel Band will perform at seven sites throughout coastal Maine. Traveling from a field on Penobscot Bay to Portland’s Congress Square Park, the series features family friendly repertoire favorites along with new works that bring humor, illusion, and athleticism to unique impromptu venues. After their successful Quarryography productions, Alison and Nigel again collaborate to merge their expertise of dance and music to create an innovative series of outdoor performances. Alison Chase/Performance, a company of six dancers, will present works including Monkey and The White Bone Demon, Devil Got my Women, Tracings, Femme Noir and Tsu-Ku-Tsu. Part performance, part street dance, come by land or sea with your own sit-upon for these unusual summer evenings.
